Job Description for Controller Austria

You’ll support the finance team in all aspects of controlling, like monthly reporting, business planning & forecasting, and build strong relationships with the different business partners. In this function you’ll act as a finance specialist for the media area’s digital platform (websites & applications) and centralized media house support services.

PLANNING & FORECASTING

You’ll perform business planning procedures, support and challenge the business partners during the planning process by collecting and analysing forecast data.

MONTH END CLOSING

In this role, you’ll be responsible for month end closing activities. You’ll prepare and continuously enhance the management reporting, discuss results during the month-end close meetings and consider impacts on results in close alignment with the accounting team.

BUSINESS PARTNERING

You’ll act as sparring partner for the business and the management and closely collaborate with the budget owners. You’ll support, but also challenge business development. You’ll perform financial analysis on project, ad-hoc and pro-active basis. Additionally, you’ll prepare reports and presentations based on request.

PROJECTS & IMPROVEMENTS

You’ll play an active role in new and existing finance projects, like developing new tools and reports. Sharing best practices, insights and ideas, as well as highlighting risks and opportunities are also part of your job.

EXPERIENCE

Your areas of knowledge and expertise

that matter most for this role:
  • First work experience (e.g. through internships) in Finance/Controlling
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge (Excel), familiarity with integrated business analysis tools (SAP/ERP, BI) is a strong plus
  • High level of finance knowledge (Controlling and Accounting)
  • Analytical thinker with strong business acumen and IT literacy
  • Ability to quickly identify and analyse causalities, risks and impacts
  • Structured and well-organized working style
  • High level of engagement, self-organized person, team-player
  • Entrepreneurial and result-oriented way of thinking, flexibility to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • University Degree in Business Administration or similar
  • Very good English skills, knowledge of German is a plus
  • Travel up to: 10%
